About Capturing Crested Butte Photography
Greetings,
My name is Kurt Reise. I have been photographing Crested Butte for nearly a decade. I grew up in Nevada City, California with a passion for the great outdoors. I lived in a log cabin that I helped my mother and father build in the woods across from a lake and just a short walk from a gorgeous set of waterfalls.
I attended Arrowhead High School in Hartland, Wisconsin before moving to beautiful Colorado. The chill of the north made the move to Gunnison County easy with the addition of mountains to play in during the cold. I spent several years at Western State College before partaking in the business world managing The Photo Case, Inc. on Crested Butte Mountain Resort. Soon after, I joined the Crested Butte News as a staff photographer. I then chose to go back to school for Visual Communications and Marketing. That choice set me on the path of starting my own photography business. Since then I shoot photos for Crested Butte Mountain Resort marketing material and shoot video for CBTV.
In the past years, I have been published in Freeskier Magazine, Ski Magazine, Transworld Snowboarder, Mountain Magazine, USA Today, Country and Homes Magazine, Chicago Sun-Times, Crested Butte Magazine, Kids Magazine, Sports N Spokes Magazine, Dirt Rag Magazine, Starfish Magazine, Capturing Crested Butte, Gunnison Country Times, and The Crested Butte News.
